A Blustery, fun day!

It was really cold today but we had a great time! We started out at the Tower of London. We got to see the Royal Jewels! Boy, are they impressive! All of the really good spots wont allow picture taking inside! On the tours, sometimes we just don't have enough time to see everything we want to see at each spot! The guides make it very clear that they will leave without you! After the tower, we went to Buckingham Palace. We really wanted to see the changing of the guard but they only do that on the even # days! The queen is out on "holiday". So no royalty spotting! We took a boat down the river Thames and then to Westminster Abby. WOW!!!! What a place! I cant imagine how they carved all the intricate details of the statues, ceilings, crypts and memorials out of sand stone! It is truly AWESOME! Of course, we couldn't take pictures inside!!! Ann and Roman lit candles. From there we went to the London Eye. It is a huge Ferris wheel type ride that has pods for you to stand in and have a 360 degree view of London. It was just starting to get dark and a little rainy. Very beautiful! It was a long day! Roman and Ann fell asleep as soon as we got back to the room! I bet they have another 2:00 AM candy raid! We got to try authentic fish and chips with mushy peas yesterday. The fish and chips were great but mushy peas is just WRONG! Today we got to try Yorkshire pudding. Not bad, but where the heck was the pudding???? Love you and miss you, Susie

Hey! The pix are great Susie! It is so fun being able to follow you on your adventure! That guard looks pretty small to be "guarding" important stuff. Roman - maybe you could get a job!:)
Looks cold - stay bundled. Look forward to your next entry!

The pics are awesome. I had forgotten about the cabs in London, I love them!! They look like a bigger "paddy wagon" and they have so much room inside. I think I'm gonna work on that being my next car! Did you do the Tower of London tour? That place gave me the creeps! You could just feel that some REALLY bad stuff happened there! Thanks for sharing the trip with us!

Tried the Steak & Kidney pie yet? Apparently, steak is rare there! Try an Indian restaurant for some great curry. The French and German pastries will WOW you! Have a Whitbread Bitter for me!

Really enjoying the pictures. Thanks for keeping us on you email
list. Brings back memories of our
short stay in London. I thought I
had lost my purse containing passport, credit cards, etc. while
at Buckingham Palace. Went to the
police (Bobbies) on the park grounds to report it. It was raining cats and dogs and I was in
tears of course. They were most
helpful, got info, etc., then offered to take us (Denny was with
me) back to our hotel. Guess they
felt sorry for me or thought Denny
might "beat me" (just kidding).
Anyway, they took us back in their
Paddy Wagon and I made them let us
out a block from the Hotel. Incidently I had left my purse in
the Hotel Lobby. Hope this doesn't
happen to you. Glad you are having
a wonderful trip.
Donna

*****crickets chirping*******anyone there? I'm assuming that you must be having waaay to much fun to take time to post or the electricity differences are causing a problem. Either way, we are anxiously awaiting the next post and pics. I can't wait to hear about Italy and if you find the guy from Under the Tuscan Sun, keep him!!!

Hi all you blog followers:

I just to talked to my mom (Susie) and they are having a great time! They were in Eunich Germany today and they go to Italy tomorrow. DO NOT tell the U.S. Customs Agent that you went to Amsterdam! That will likely lead to you having to empty your luggage on a table while he sifts through your underwear! Say Hi! to the Pope for me!
